SThree is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a talented Regional Assistant Accountant to join our finance team, based in our fantastic office space located in Glasgow on a full‑time permanent basis.
About the roleAs Regional Assistant Accountant
, you will play a key role within our regional finance team, offering exposure to month‑end processes, balance sheet management, budgeting, and audit preparation. You’ll be integral in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and delivering insightful reporting that supports business decision‑making.

What You’ll DoMonth‑End & Reporting
- Prepare and post monthly journals (payroll, accruals, prepayments).
- Own the monthly accounts close for your region, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assist with variance analysis and provide clear, concise commentary.
Balance Sheet Management
- Reconcile key accounts and maintain supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve outstanding balances.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the Regional Financial Accountant in budget and reforecast processes.
Payroll & Controls
- Post internal payroll entries and maintain issue logs.
- Ensure robust financial controls and audit trails are in place.
Year‑End & Audit
- Contribute to group and local audits, ensuring compliance and timely submissions.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of financial and management reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables).
- Experience with financial systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- A proactive, self‑starter with great attention to detail.
