Due to continued growth and an expanding portfolio of work, we are delighted to be seeking an additional Works Coordinator to join our thriving team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within the utilities and telecoms sector. As a Works Controller, you’ll play a key role in coordinating and supporting day-to-day operations, while gaining invaluable experience that can develop into the Project Management career pathway.
WhatWe expect of you:
You will be pivotal in ensuring GCU's reputation is upheld through professional representation and consistent delivery of project goals, including quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency.
- Daily Planning & Scheduling:
Work with Supervisors and the Operations Manager to plan and programme works, ensuring efficiency and alignment with deadlines. - Noticing:
Raise notices on both the Aurora and Symology systems - Coordination with Client:
Manage noticing requests and coordinate with Client to ensure compliance and smooth delivery. - Work Pack Management:
Accept, review, and verify work packs from the client, ensuring they are accurate and ready for delivery. - Desktop Surveys:
Carry out desktop surveys to identify any inaccuracies or potential delivery issues. - Programme Management:
Keep works on track and ensure completion dates are achieved in line with client expectations. - Completion & Compliance:
Ensure completed job packs are submitted in full compliance with requirements.
You will bring previous experience in utilities or telecoms planning, coordination, or noticing, along with excellent organisational and time‑management skills. Ideally with experience across England and Scotland operations. You’ll demonstrate strong communication and problem‑solving abilities, and be detail‑oriented, comfortable working with data and job documentation. Most importantly, you’ll approach the role with enthusiasm and a desire for career progression.
