An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Estimator to join a civil engineering and road surfacing contractor with a long & successful history.
You’ll be a key member of the commercial team, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and taking ownership of tenders for a range of projects across both the public and private sectors.

Work on a varied portfolio of civil engineering and road surfacing projects
The role involves;
Preparing cost estimates and quotations for public contract tenders and private clients in line with pricing strategies, tender documentation and relevant specifications/legislation
Drafting responses to technical and quality questions, including method statements and risk assessments
Producing take-offs from drawings and compiling BOQs/Activity Schedules where required
Gathering and reviewing subcontract and material quotations to support accurate cost build-ups
Managing and prioritising your workload to ensure all tender and contractual deadlines are met
Producing detailed handover documentation, including cost allowances and project information, to ensure a smooth transition from bid to operations
Following up on submitted tenders to obtain feedback and drive continuous improvement in future bids
What we’re looking for here;
Some previous experience as an Estimator on road surfacing and civil engineering projects
Strong understanding of cost control and construction contracts, particularly NEC
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
Confident communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work with internal teams and external stakeholders
Strong time management and planning skills, with a keen eye for detail
Full, valid UK driving licence
