We work with leading veterinary groups, laboratories and healthcare providers, delivering high-quality engineering services that ensure equipment reliability, safety and regulatory compliance.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit experienced Biomedical Field Service Technicians to join our team in Glasgow.
The RoleThis is a field-based engineering position responsible for the installation, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), fault diagnosis and repair of a wide range of medical and veterinary equipment.
The role will predominantly involve working within:
- Veterinary practices and referral hospitals
- Diagnostic laboratories
- Private healthcare facilities and hospitals
You will represent Certus Biomedical on site, delivering a professional, customer-focused service and ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and safety inspections
- Diagnose and repair faults on a range of medical and veterinary equipment
- Install, commission and decommission equipment
- Perform electrical safety testing and calibration where required
- Complete accurate service documentation and compliance records
- Provide technical support and advice to customers
- Manage parts usage and maintain van stock levels
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with relevant standards, manufacturer guidance and company procedures
- Maintain strong customer relationships and represent the Certus brand professionally
- Anaesthetic machines and patient monitoring systems
- Infusion devices and fluid management equipment
- Dental and surgical equipment
- Autoclaves and sterilisation equipment
- Laboratory and diagnostic equipment
- Examination and operating tables, lighting and ancillary equipment
(Experience across multiple device types is advantageous, but training will be provided.)
Experience & Qualifications- Proven experience servicing and repairing medical devices (hospital, laboratory or veterinary)
- Relevant technical qualification (Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Good IT skills and ability to complete digital service reports
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Experience working in veterinary environments
- Manufacturer training or certification
- Knowledge of relevant standards and compliance requirements (e.g. electrical safety testing, medical device regulations)
