Your Role as a Field Service & Calibration Engineer
  • You’ll be field based, predominantly covering a region but with further UK travel as needed.
  • You will be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of this testing equipment and instrumentation.
  • Examples include impact, tensile, universal, fatigue or torsion testing.
  • You will be working within a variety of appealing manufacturing sectors including aerospace, automotive and medical industries.
  • You will play an important role in ensuring the equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained to UKAS standards.
  • Compile detailed reports as appropriate.
  • The field‑based nature of the role will require nights away from home; on average of 1–2 per week.
Ideal Background for the Field Service & Calibration Engineer
  • Knowledge of one of the following is essential:
  • Materials Testing equipment, either as a current service engineer or as someone using the machinery in a lab. Specifically impact, tensile, universal, fatigue or torsion testing.
  • Service and calibration knowledge of load cells and connected systems such as checkweighers, weighbridges or similar.
  • A strong engineering understanding in mechanical, electrical and fluid disciplines.
  • Approachable, honest and a team player.
  • Strong IT and communication skills.
  • Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have right to work in the UK (sponsorship cannot be provided).
