Our client has a strategic leadership role for an experienced Associate Director Electrical Engineer to guide multiple complex projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, influence business direction, and strengthen senior client relationships. This is a high-impact position for someone ready to operate with autonomy and authority across major programmes.
The OpportunityYou will drive technical excellence, commercial performance, and operational delivery across a broad portfolio. The role combines project leadership, team management, client development, and contribution to the ongoing expansion and reputation of the Glasgow operation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead major, complex projects with full accountability for electrical and MEP delivery
- Serve as a senior client partner, fostering relationships and securing future opportunities
- Contribute to business development activities, including bid strategy and proposal input
- Oversee and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams on large programmes
- Ensure profitable project delivery, commercial control, and rigorous governance
- Represent engineering capability at senior-level meetings and presentations
- Develop, mentor, and support the performance of senior engineers and future leaders
- Report regularly on resource planning, project expenditure, and operational metrics
- Drive improvements in working practices, efficiency, and technical output
- Chartered status and extensive experience in electrical engineering
- Strong leadership capability, with experience delivering high-value complex schemes
- Ability to navigate difficult situations with a professional, solutions-focused approach
- Strong commercial awareness and proven experience managing profitable programmes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organisational and planning ability, with a track record of meeting deadlines
- Broad understanding of multidisciplinary building services engineering
- Ability to build lasting client relationships and support business growth
