Civil Engineer

Glasgow - Job Type: Full-time, office-based
Join a well-established and respected engineering consultancy that's seeking a driven and detail-oriented professional to join their team. As a civil Engineer, you will engage in a variety of small to medium-sized projects for new residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
This role is ideal for someone who is keen to take on project responsibilities and work with advanced engineering software and systems.
Day-to-day of the role:- Support civil, housing, and building projects as Project/Assistant Project Engineer.
- Supervise junior engineers and coordinated daily project tasks.
- Produce detailed civil engineering drawings using PDS/Live Design, Info Drainage/Windes, and AutoCAD.
- Design road layouts and drainage systems in line with regulatory standards.
- Prepare Phase 1 & 2 FRA reports and checked engineering calculations.
- Work with senior engineers to resolve technical and design queries.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Assist with budget tracking and programme management.
- Manage roads/drainage applications and liaised with regulatory bodies.
- Carry out site surveys, inspections, and technical reporting.
- Verify subcontractor fabrication drawings for compliance.
- Engage directly with clients and project stakeholders.
- Mentor junior staff and supported professional development.
- Progress toward chartership and contributed to Principal Designer duties.
Qualifications:
- Experience with PDS/Live Design, Info Drainage, Windes, and AutoCAD.
- Proven ability to manage and supervise projects and junior staff.
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local authority, Scottish Water, and SEPA requirements.
- Ability to perform risk assessments and identify hazards in accordance with CDM regulations.
- Working towards or holding chartership/membership of relevant professional bodies.
