Requirements

Are you passionate about improving the environmental performance of infrastructure development projects and supporting the UK's net zero commitments? Join AECOM's established Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team, comprising over 165 experts across the UK and Ireland. As a Principal EIA Consultant, you will manage environmental inputs to a wide range of large‑scale development projects including energy generation (carbon capture, hydrogen, renewables), energy distribution and transmission, strategic rail projects, highway improvements, regeneration, and developments across e‑commerce, minerals, waste, water, defence, aviation, commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.

You will lead the preparation and review of EIA screening and scoping reports, Environmental Statements, and supporting documentation throughout all project stages—from early strategy and site identification, through feasibility, optioneering, design, construction, to operation and maintenance. You will work across multiple consenting regimes such as DCO, TCPA, TWA, and hybrid Bills.

Your role will involve ensuring the highest quality standards in deliverables, managing resources and budgets, collaborating with integrated design teams to identify environmental constraints and mitigation solutions, managing client relationships, and promoting AECOM's environmental services. You will also identify and lead business development opportunities and contribute to fee and technical proposal development.

Join a global team driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world through innovation, technical excellence, and a commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities.
