Are you ready to support a team of talented engineers, modellers and consultants and help shape the future of the water industry?

Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Hydraulic Modeller in our rapidly growing Edinburgh and Glasgow offices - whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.

At AECOM, we're at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients. These include local government, contractors, charities and water companies. In this role, you will be one of the lead technical team members supporting junior members to deliver top quality projects.

This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to support a talented, diverse team committed to innovation and efficiency. The team in Edinburgh has a diverse set of skills and we pride ourselves in being able to deliver large scale multidiscipline projects supported by the wider AECOM groups.

We have a collaborative approach to working both within our team and more broadly developing our relationships with the Energy, Environmental and Transportation sectors. We are a dynamic team looking to grow and support the Water Teams across our UK offices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on developing the technical approach for modelling, hydrology and flooding projects - supported by the wider team.
  • Deliver technically challenging projects for key clients.
  • Support the team fulfilling a thorough quality assurance process.
  • Provide clients with technical input supporting them make informed decisions.
  • Provide mentoring for junior team members, helping them develop and progress towards chartered status.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what's possible?

Here's what we're looking for:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, GIS, Geography, or similar subject.
  • Chartered member or approaching chartership with ICE or CIWEM.
  • Experience in Hydraulic Modelling, GIS or Data Analysis, in particular ArcGIS.
  • Detailed understanding of hydrology in the UK and worldwide.
  • Experienced in fluvial, pluvial and integrated Hydraulic Modelling, in particular Innovyze ICM or Floodmodeller/Tuflow.
  • Experience being the technical lead on hydrology and hydraulic modelling projects.
  • Proven experience in water consultancy.
