ResponsibilitiesIn this role, as a Principal Transport Engineer, you'll:
- Lead cutting‑edge projects in active travel, street design, and traffic engineering
- Contribute to innovative solutions for cycle priority and traffic signal design
- Apply and evolve best practices in urban transport planning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable mobility solutions
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (Engineering) and have achieved or be working towards a relevant professional accreditation e.g.
CEng or CTPP
. - Experience in the Traffic Engineering field with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high‑profile transport projects, particularly in an urban environment, and experience in cycle priority and traffic signal design desirable.
- Experience in applying design standards, that may include the Designing Streets, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Cycling by Design or Local Authority Street Design guidance
. - Technical aptitude and experience in design and modelling software packages particularly Auto Cad and Lin Sig.
- Ability to liaise and communicate with clients and manage tasks using appropriate programmes, budgets and quality controls.
- This role can be based on a Hybrid basis from either our Glasgow or Edinburgh offices.
Full‑time employment with Jacobs is @ 40 hours per week, however work‑life balance and flexibility is a key focus area for Jacobs and we’re happy to discuss hybrid, part‑time and flexible working hours to suit you and our business.
