Role Overview We are seeking a motivated Graduate/Junior Engineer to join our team and support projects related to concrete structure condition assessments and develop into supporting cathodic protection design. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience in structural durability, asset management, and corrosion mitigation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Managers, Engineers and Technicians s to deliver high-quality technical assessments and design solutions.
Key Responsibilities Conducting condition assessments of structures, including visual inspections, testing, and data collection. Analyse test results and contribute to assessment reports with recommendations for repair and maintenance strategies. Assist in preparing technical drawings, specifications, and design calculations. Work collaboratively with senior engineers and project managers to ensure project objectives are met. Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in concrete durability and corrosion protection.
Support business development activities by contributing to proposals, technical presentations and memberships to industry associations. Support the design, implementation and installation of cathodic protection systems for reinforced concrete structures. Conduct site visits to gather data and oversee installation or testing activities. Requirements HND or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
A keen interest in structural durability, materials science, and corrosion protection. Basic knowledge of reinforced concrete structures and their deterioration mechanisms. Ability to interpret technical data and contribute to engineering reports. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Willingness to travel to project sites as required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CAD skills
