Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer
Location :
Glasgow
Salary : £35,000 - £45,000
An independent building services design consultancy is seeking to hire a Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer to join their growing team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are keen to develop their career with a focus on Sustainability in the built environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Building Services Engineers and Sustainability Specialists with technical analysis and reporting
- Carry out Part L / Section 6 compliance assessments and contribute to operational energy modelling (TM54)
- Provide sustainability advice throughout the design process
- Attend site visits to observe works in progress and gain practical project experience
- Continually develop technical knowledge of building environmental systems and work towards professional accreditation
- Support decarbonisation studies and sustainability assessments, including BREEAM and NABERS
- Use IES-VE to deliver energy, compliance, and performance assessments
- Undertake building performance modelling and analysis to support building services design decisions
- Degree qualified related to the Built Environment / Engineering
- Working knowledge of IES-VE software
- Hold a Low Carbon Energy Assessor certification (Non-domestic Buildings)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Building Physics related role
- Knowledge of heat transfer, energy, thermal comfort and natural ventilation
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
