Senior Lighting Designer (Environmental)

At WSP, you will contribute to landmark environmental lighting projects across the UK, delivering design Xm@@ môže as services in sectors such as architectural, planning, dark skies, local government, rail, highways, and aviation. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to develop environmental capability and support Net‑Zero initiatives.

• Technical delivery of environmental light reports and strategy documents, collaborating with Ecology, Planning and Architectural lighting teams.
• Develop and mentor junior staff in environmental lighting skills.
• Review client requirements and develop technical bid proposals.
• Assist Project Managers in project bids, reviews and delivery of outcome reports.
• Prepare environmental impact assessments, lighting designs, and technical lighting reports.
• Conduct site surveys in accordance with ILP PLG
  04.

• Strong technical knowledge of obtrusive lighting, dark skies, EIA and relevant guidance documents.
• Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
• Registration with the Engineering Council (Eng Tech, IEng or CEng).
• Proficiency in AGI
  32, Dialux (or equivalent) design software.
• Demonstrated competency and experience on lighting design projects.
• Ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
• Independent and team‑working skills, with ability to prioritise and remain flexible.
• Fluent spoken and written English and strong IT skills.
