Stantec’s Scottish Water work is built on a robust portfolio of successful framework bids across the North of England and beyond, ensuring a diverse and challenging pipeline of projects. Our Glasgow and Edinburgh teams are supporting clients in delivering wastewater infrastructure, storm‑water overflows and treatment works, while also collaborating with colleagues on projects for Northumbrian Water, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities.
In this role, you’ll be a Principal Civil Engineer on our Water Team in Scotland, working across the entire project lifecycle—from asset planning and strategy, through concept, outline and detailed design—to delivery. You will provide technical expertise to ensure projects meet cost, schedule, technical and quality standards, and you will manage and mentor the engineering team.
Responsibilities- Lead the technical design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across all stages.
- Ensure projects are delivered to cost, schedule, technical and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to engineering staff.
- Develop and implement location-based infrastructure plans and designs.
- Mentor and support engineers to maximize teamwork and project success.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a relevant subject.
- Experience with in the water industry; preferably in consulting and leading engineering teams.
- Incorporated or Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution (e.g., ICE, CIWEM).
- Strong client‑focus and service excellence, aligned with Stantec values.
