Electrical Engineer – Edinburgh & Glasgow

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join a growing, forward-thinking building services consultancy with offices in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a wide range of challenging and rewarding projects — from NHS frameworks and Ministry of Defence facilities to high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) infrastructure upgrades, refurbishments, to commercial, science, and research environments.

This position offers the chance to work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, supporting the design and delivery of innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality electrical designs across a range of building types and technical environments
  • Undertake detailed design work including calculations, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders
  • Assist in the preparation of specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
  • Support site inspections, surveys, and client meetings as required
  • Contribute to project planning, technical reviews, and quality assurance processes

About You

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A degree or HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in electrical design within a building services or infrastructure consultancy environment
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Amtech, Dialux, and Revit (or similar)
  • A solid understanding of HV and LV systems, lighting design, power distribution, and energy efficiency principles
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to technical excellence
