Civils CAD Technician

Glasgow

I am recruiting for a Civils CAD Technician in Glasgow.

Join a forward-thinking, employee-owned consultancy delivering civil, structural, geotechnical, and bridge projects across the UK. You’ll work independently and collaboratively to create accurate technical drawings and 3D models that bring designs to life, supporting engineers and project managers in delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for civil engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure designs are accurately represented.
  • Modify and update drawings based on design changes and feedback.
  • Maintain organised CAD records, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Support junior/graduate technicians with technical guidance.
  • Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and technical standards.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers and contribute to project timelines and budgets.
Candidate Requirements
  • Diploma or certification in CAD Design, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Evidence of CPD towards Incorporated or Engineering Technician status.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, and Revit.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CAD Technician in civil engineering or consultancy work.
  • Awareness of BIM standards and ISO 19650 workflows; experience with Micro Station preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM
    360/Project Wise).
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.
