Technical Inspector Property & Asset Management
Salary: £36,440.43, additional allowances - £739 per annum plus £5,534 per annum.
Location:
Glasgow / Central Belt (site-based with hybrid working)
Contract:
Permanent | Full-time | On-call 13 weeks
The opportunity
We're working with a large, well-established property and asset management organisation to recruit a Technical Inspector into their technical services function.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone from a construction, inspection, or clerk of works background who enjoys being out on site, assessing buildings, identifying issues, and helping ensure properties are safe, compliant and well maintained.
You'll support the management of a diverse non-domestic property portfolio, providing technical advice across inspections, risk, compliance, and remedial works.
Responsibilities- Carry out land and building inspections, providing technical analysis and recommendations
- Use hand-held inspection technology to record condition data and update asset databases
- Interpret findings and support the implementation of remedial actions
- Support property insurance and risk management activities, including fire reporting, loss adjusting and making safe / reinstatement instructions
- Produce and maintain vacant property risk records
- Identify property defects and coordinate or recommend repairs and remedial works
- Report on compliance of installations against contract and technical standards
- Provide wider technical and property management support
- Assist with the implementation of organisational policies, strategies and standards
- Ensure accurate property information is gathered and reported
- Promote and uphold Health & Safety and risk management procedures
- Provide standby / out-of-hours support for incidents when required
- HNC (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline
- Experience with in the building or construction industry
- Strong understanding of building construction, repairs and maintenance
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
- Awareness of relevant statutory and legislative requirements
- Confident communicator with contractors and internal stakeholders
- Full UK driving licence
- Membership of the Institute of Clerks of Works or equivalent
- Knowledge of Technical Standards (Scotland)
- Experience with asset management systems
- City & Guilds or equivalent technical qualification
- Knowledge of landlord consents and EPCs
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
- Permanent role within a stable, publicly aligned organisation
