2025 - Quantity Surveying Apprenticeship (Scotland)

Role OverviewAssist with the commercial function within a project or office, with the provision of a commercial, contractual, and financial management service.
Whilst under supervision, to ensure project profitobjectivesand targets are met and cash and margin are managed tomaximiseperformance, all in a manner consistent with the Group processes.
Key Deliverables and Accountabilities- Assist with the commercial function within project or office
- Implementation of company commercial practices
- Understand the basic commercial principles of the function
- Assist with the management and reporting of monthly costs
- Assist with the preparation and management of simple subcontracts
- Preparation and filing of records
- Assist with preparation of interim applications and final accounts from first principles
- Assist with valuing and pricing variations
- Communicating clearly and confidently to a professional standard
- Keep your manager fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise, and which could affect the business/project

Apprenticeship ProviderLaing O'Rourkecollaboratewith trusted and approved training providers for our apprenticeship delivery.
Successful candidates willbe required to make an application to our preferred provider for the apprenticeship route you have chosen.

- Scottish Higher: BBCC or equivalent
- Foundation Apprenticeships
- You must be eligible to work in the UK. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
We accept selected Foundation Apprenticeships, in combination with SQAHighers, for entry to our degree programmes.
Your Foundation Apprenticeship will take the place of one SQA Higher qualification for our standard entry requirements and will be treated as equivalent to a B grade at Higher.
Modern Apprenticeships
If you have completed a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF level 6 in a relevantdisciplinethis would be equivalent to two Highersat

You will complete a series of assessments designed to understand how you approach workplace situations, your preferred ways of working, as well as exercises to evaluate your critical thinking and numerical reasoning skills. - Video Interview
At this stage, you will be invited to record responses to two questions set by our hiring team. You will have sufficient time to prepare and ensure you present yourself confidently. - Assessment Centre
Our in-person assessment centres, held at a LOR office,provide an opportunity for youtodemonstrateyour skills through a combination of individual tasks, short interviews, and group activities. This is also a chance to experience our culture first-hand. - Outcome
We aim to provide feedback and communicate the outcome of your assessmentcentrewithin two weeks.
