The Popular Music Summer School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is a fun, hands-on course for young musicians aged 12–18 who want to explore songwriting, performing, and collaborating with others. Whether you’re already writing your own music or just getting started, you’ll work with professional musicians and creative mentors to develop your sound and boost your confidence.

Over five exciting days, you’ll create and perform original music, take part in workshops and group sessions, and learn how to bring your musical ideas to life. It’s all about getting inspired, making music with others, and discovering what makes you unique as an artist—all in a relaxed and supportive environment.

The tuition focuses on practical, hands-on learning through daily sessions in songwriting, performance, and collaboration, guided by professional musicians who help students develop their creative voice and understand the real-world music industry.

While the focus is on music, the course also offers a fun, social atmosphere where students connect, collaborate, and get inspired by each other—creating a relaxed and creative vibe that continues beyond the classroom.

Accommodation is not included in the course fee, but students are recommended to stay at BASE Glasgow—a secure, modern student residence just a 3-minute walk from campus, with en-suite rooms, shared kitchens, and on-site practice spaces.
