Overview
Senior Communications Officer () — Band 6 (£41,608 - £50,702). Full-time (37 hours per week). Fixed-term contract/secondment until July 2027 – maternity leave cover. Glasgow or Edinburgh – hybrid working will apply for the foreseeable future.
The purpose of Healthcare Improvement Scotland is to ensure the people of Scotland experience the best quality of health and care. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative team player to support our organisation’s communications activity.
Responsibilities- Write engaging and well-structured copy for a range of audiences, using a variety of communications channels; strong experience with digital channels such as social media posts and producing website copy; experience using Wordpress.
- Edit content with a keen eye for detail and create clear, accessible, engaging content for websites; manage social media activity and campaigns.
- Explain complex issues to a variety of stakeholders and develop impactful key messages.
- Contribute to communications discussions and identify requirements through relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels; provide constructive challenge when needed and appraise others' copy as required.
- Plan, implement and measure campaigns; create clear design briefs when required.
- Work in a busy and varied communications environment; hold a degree in a relevant discipline or have experience in public relations, journalism, or within an in-house communications team setting.
- Educated to degree level in an appropriate specialist discipline or relevant experience in public relations, journalism or in-house communications.
