Call : DAO Instagram Takeover

DAO Instagram Takeovers offer disabled, D/deaf and neurodivergent artists the chance to post from the Disability Arts Online (DAO) Instagram page for a week. We are looking for two artists who will each do a takeover between May and November 2026.

This is an opportunity to share your creative work and post about topics that matter to you, reaching the many diverse artists and arts organisations who are following DAO.

• receiving social media advice from DAO’s Comms Team;
• developing your social media skills and experience.

If you are selected to take part, we will agree a week when you are free to do your DAO Instagram Takeover. As a participant you will receive a one-to-one session with a member of our Comms Team to help you plan your takeover and receive tips for getting the most out of your own social media in future. You will have time to create your content ahead of your takeover week.

Our next call out will be for takeovers that will happen between May and November 2026, to be agreed with the selected artists. We are offering an honorarium of £100 per takeover week for individual artists who take part in this opportunity. Artists taking over the DAO Instagram account are expected to share at least one post and one story a day (Monday – Friday) during their takeover week.

Following their takeover week they will also be required to fill out a feedback form.

Every post should have at least one image or video and text to accompany it. Images and videos should be good quality and the text should be engaging to read. We will offer you advice on making your social media content more accessible.
