Assistant Estimator

We are currently working with a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in West Lothian who is looking to appoint an Assistant Estimator to join their growing commercial team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in groundworks or civils who's looking to further develop their estimating career within a fast-growing business working on major projects across Scotland for blue-chip clients.

Working closely with the Commercial Director, you'll play a key role in the pre‑construction phase, helping drive commercial success.

• Assist with the preparation of costing for groundworks and civils projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and other documents
• Produce accurate take‑offs and assist with cost build‑ups
• Support pricing of works
• Liaise with site teams and operational staff as required

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an estimating or quantity surveying role
• Ideally with background in groundworks, civils, or construction
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good understanding of construction processes and cost structures
• Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience

• Salary up to £40,000 (depending on experience)
