Senior Quantity Surveyor

Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Permanent)
CNX Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a fast growing Design & Build Main Contractor, in the appointment of an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Glasgow team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and forward-thinking contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work across Scotland. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects while driving commercial performance and managing risk.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure financial control, profitability, and contractual compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing all commercial aspects of multiple projects

* Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and subcontracts

* Cost planning, forecasting, and reporting

* Valuations, variations, and final accounts

* Risk and opportunity management

* Cash flow management and cost control

* Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff

* Liaising with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry

* Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT/NEC)

* Demonstrable experience managing projects independently

* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills

* Strong reporting and financial management capability

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)

* Membership of RICS (or working towards) desirable
