Freelance Site Manager for Tier 1 Builder in Glasgow – School Project Your new company You will be working on behalf of a well‑established main contractor with a strong track record of delivering large‑scale education projects across Scotland. They are commencing a major new build school development in the Glasgow area valued at approximately £25m and require additional freelance support at the early stages of the programme.

Your new role As Freelance Site Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing early-site activities including groundworks, enabling works, site logistics, health and safety compliance, and coordination with subcontractors. You’ll work closely with the project team to ensure the smooth progression of the build from initial phases through to key early milestones. What you'll need to succeed Proven experience managing projects in the education or commercial sector Strong background in early-stage construction and groundworks Excellent knowledge of health & safety standards Ability to coordinate subcontractors and maintain high-quality site standards SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold) and First Aid certifications Strong communication and leadership skills What you'll get in return You will be joining a supportive and professional project team on a high‑profile scheme with long-term potential.
