1. Your New Company This Tier 2 main contractor is delivering a high-profile £12 million refurbishment project in Glasgow and is seeking an experienced freelance Quantity Surveyor to join the team. With a strong track record in complex refurbishments and public sector work, the company offers a professional and collaborative environment where your expertise will be highly valued.
2. Your New Role As Freelance Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of the commercial management of the project, ensuring financial control and contractual compliance throughout. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts Subcontractor procurement and cost reporting Budget tracking and forecasting Supporting contract administration and risk management Liaising with site teams, consultants, and clients This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident, working independently and delivering under tight timelines.
3. What You Will Need to Succeed To hit the ground running, you’ll need:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on refurbishment or complex build projects Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts Ability to manage commercial aspects with minimal supervision Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Availability for an immediate start and flexibility to be site-based in Glasgow
