Compliance Assurance Lead

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Compliance Assurance Lead to join our growing Compliance team. This is a key role responsible for controlling and coordinating the Compliance Assurance Programme, ensuring the effective implementation, auditing, and management of compliance activity across multiple contracts and client locations.
You will act as a central point of contact for internal and external audits, working closely with operational, asset, and contract teams to drive a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Compliance Assurance- Develop and maintain a strong operational understanding of contract requirements, compliance obligations, and legislative deliverables.
- Coordinate Level 1 and Level 2 internal assurance activity and act as the key liaison for Level 3 Group Internal Audit.
- Drive the timely close-out of audit actions and ensure all evidence is documented and maintained.
- Build strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
- Support business objectives and compliance system improvements.
- Produce weekly and monthly performance reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
- Coordinate and deliver the contract assurance programme in conjunction with the Head of H&S.
- Conduct desktop audits to review compliance across planned and remedial works.
- Monitor non-conformance and work with operational teams to ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Support risk management processes and contribute to the contract risk register.
- Coordinate and control PPM task sheets, scopes of work, and compliance documentation.
- Work closely with Asset and Managed Contracts teams to ensure maintenance delivery aligns with specifications.
- Monitor reactive remedial workflows and PPM remediation processes.
- Support the ongoing review of SFG
20 and technical specifications. - Maintain version control and quality assurance of documentation.
- Ensure statutory and compliance records are accurate and up to date.
- Support the development and maintenance of the contract RACI and risk matrix.
- Escalate key risks and non-conformances.
- Produce compliance and risk reporting as required.
- Assist in developing and maintaining policies, processes, and procedures across technical disciplines such as electrical, gas, and water.
- Coordinate accreditation validation including Gas Safe, NICEIC, and F-Gas.
- Experience in compliance within hard facilities management.
- Knowledge of statutory and legal maintenance requirements.
- Strong understanding of SFG
20 and technical specifications. - Engineering or electrical management experience.
- HVAC and refrigeration knowledge.
- Experience in operational auditing and compliance frameworks.
- Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Degree in Engineering, Compliance, or a related discipline.
- ISO standards knowledge and understanding.
- CAFM or database experience.
- Knowledge of Safe Contractor and accreditation processes.
- Driving licence.
