Position: Procurement Specialist
Department: Procurement
Locations: Glasgow, Falkirk or Inverness
Employment type: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week, Monday to Friday, hybrid basis (flexible working welcomed)
Salary: £35,532 - £38,828 (£36,776 - £40,187 from April 2026) Band D per annum
Leave: 32 days (35 after 5 years) + 6 public holidays, enhanced sick pay, discounted shopping vouchers, contributory pension scheme up to 10% employer contribution.
Primary Responsibilities OfThe Role
- Manage the tender process, including the development of strategies, ITT documentation, evaluation, contract recommendation and contract handover for a wide range of categories, including but not limited to Operations, Marketing, Destinations and Corporate services.
- Ensure compliance with current legislation and internal governance and challenge when necessary.
- Manage internal and external working relationships, driving early stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement to ensure the organisational operational procurement needs are effectively planned for and achieved.
- Work with external stakeholders to add value and develop relationships.
- May carry out some contract/supplier management.
- Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply Level 4 or working towards the qualification or relevant experience within public sector procurement.
- Good understanding of Public Procurement legislation and internal policy application.
- Good levels of written, analytical and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write tender documentation including evaluation and contract management KPIs.
- Ability to prioritise work on own initiative and to communicate any delays to the business.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organisation skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Prioritise own workload to achieve business‑led or specifically detailed deadlines.
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to organise and coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
- Judgement regarding confidential issues and release of information to internal and external contacts.

- Flexible, positive attitude and setting high standards.
- Experience in an administrative role reporting directly to upper management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with office productivity tools and aptitude for learning new software and systems.
- Flexible team player, willing to assist with admin duties to support holiday cover and absence, adapt to changes and unafraid of challenges.
