Job Purpose
To provide excellent and professional customer service as the first point of contact at the Adam Smith Business School reception and deliver comprehensive administrative support across a range of operational activities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Reception Services- Deliver high-quality customer service to staff, students, and visitors in person, by phone, and online.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming reception environment.
- Assist with booking meeting rooms and managing space access systems (e.g., security cards).
- Maintain stationery and supplies to meet operational demand.
- Support purchasing and procurement processes.
- Log and follow up on maintenance requests.
- Coordinate with Estates and IT teams to ensure equipment and facilities are functioning and well‑maintained.
- Respond to student enquiries at reception and direct them to appropriate teams.
- Provide support for learning and teaching activities as required.
- Offer general administrative support to School colleagues.
- Assist with documentation, scheduling, and internal communications.
- Any other required tasks consummate with the grade.
- A1 SCQF Level 5 or 6 (e.g., National 5 or 6, SVQ Level 2 or
3), or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- B1 Familiarity with University systems such as MyCampus, Salto Space, and Moodle.
- C1 Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- C2 Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
- C3 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- C4 Discretion, tact, and professionalism.
- E1 Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role.
- E2 Demonstrated ability to manage varied tasks in a busy environment.
Salary will be Grade 4, £25,804 - £27,319 per annum pro rata.
This post is part-time (17.5 hours per week), and open ended (permanent).
