Registered Dental Hygienist PRN

The Barren River District Health Department serves the residents and visitors of Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson, and Warren counties of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Barren River District Health Department has an opening for a PRN Public Health Dental Hygienist to serve patients in all 8 counties using mobile dental equipment and providing treatment under a dentist s order.

• Provide primary preventive dental services to the populations identified by BRDHD, including dental cleanings, x-rays, sealants, fluoride treatment, and dental screenings in a mobile setting in daycares, head starts, schools (K-12), long term care facilities, International Center, and BRASS
• Maintain proper and accurate documentation in patient s medical records
• Responsible for setting up mobile dental equipment, sterilization of instruments, and the management of dental supplies
• Maintain CEU s required for licensure
• Other duties as assigned.

• Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the state of employment.
• A Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Must have at least two years of experience with a minimum of 3000 hours in the practice of dental hygiene in accordance with KRS 313.040
