Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in court or before government agencies
• Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
• Advise clients on legal matters and strategies
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
• Comply with all legal standards and regulations
• Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
• Assist and support senior lawyers in litigation and case management

Qualifications:

• License to practice in Oregon preferred, but may consider a recent law school graduate who has not yet obtained an Oregon license or an applicant who is licensed in another State looking to obtain Oregon licensure
• Familiarity with various legal documents
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness and desire to work on complex litigation

Philpott Law, LLC is seeking an Associate Attorney to become a part of our team! Philpott Law, LLC attorneys practice primarily in the areas of criminal defense, juvenile law, administrative law, and family law. Our lawyers have over 50 years of combined legal experience, with a strong focus on Department of Human Services child welfare cases and complex litigation in family, criminal and administrative forums which often involve allegations of abuse or neglect.
