Department Overview
Oregon Health & Science University is Oregon’s #1 hospital. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is part of the health care team in locations throughout OHSU. The CNA provides direct or general nursing care to patients from admission through discharge under the direction of a licensed nurse and within the parameters of the state licensing board. The CNA assists the patient, patients' families, nursing staff and other support staff to assure the delivery of safe, quality care in alignment with the mission and vision of Doernbecher Children's Hospital and OHSU.
Current unit 13
KPV Adult Oncology will be transitioning to VPV Surgical Oncology. Our primary teams are Surgical Oncology, General Surgery, Gynecology Oncology, and Radiation Oncology. The new unit will have 60+ beds to expand our exceptional care for our patients.
Current unit 14K Adult Bone Marrow Transplant will be transitioning to VPV Medical Oncology. Our primary teams are Medical Oncology/Cellular Therapy:
Stem cell Transplant, Immune cell therapy including CAR-T and TIL, Gene Therapy, Chemotherapy, GVHD, pain crisis, failure to thrive, end of life. The new unit will have 60+ beds to expand our exceptional care for our patients.
Start Dates: 2/9, 2/23, or 3/9
Wage Range: $21.81 - $29.09 per hour
Night Shift Differential: 12.5% of base rate ($2.65 minimum)

FTE - Two 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend

FTE - Two 12- hour shifts one week, Three 12- hour shifts the next week rotation, including every other weekend

FTE - Three 12- hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
- Assist with the admitting and discharge
- Obtain accurate vital signs and weight
- Complete all unit specific CNA documentation in the patient’s medical record related to: admissions, daily care, vital signs, weight, intake and output, discharge, etc.
- Assist the patient with any and all basic hygiene, lifting, transport, dietary support, and other personal needs and medical necessities
- Support patient and family centered care
- Report potential compliance problems as outlined in the Code of Conduct
- Model ethical and appropriate behavior, professional standards, compliance, and personal integrity

- High School Diploma or GED
- Oregon CNA1 Certification at time of hire
- BLS required at time of hire, issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
