ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has an outstanding opportunity for a Board Certified/Eligible Adult Outpatient Psychiatrist to join our team in ambulatory psychiatric care and resident supervision. An ideal candidate is a dynamic clinician/educator focused on system-based care, complex cases and care improvement, integrating current evidence into practice and teaching. Faculty may participate in the department's and clinic's strategic care initiatives such as interventional psychiatry and collaborative care.
The OHSU Adult Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic is located at OHSU’s academic campus in SW Portland and includes psychiatrists, PMHNPs, physician assistants, psychologists, neuropsychologists and 20-24 psychiatry residents (PGY2-PGY4). The clinic offers access to a wide range of treatment facilities and methodologies for evaluation and treatment of mental health conditions including mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma-related disorders, somatic symptom disorders, ADHD and others.
The duties of this position include:
- Build and maintain an outpatient continuity clinic (in-person and telehealth). Appointment times for intakes and consultations are 60-90 minutes, 30 minutes for medication management, and 60-minute slots for combined psychotherapy and medication management. Providers may follow up with patients as appropriate to ensure high-quality care.
- Outpatient psychiatric consultations are encouraged at 0.1 FTE (2 consults per week).
- Clinical education of residents through outpatient supervision will comprise at least 0.1 FTE.
- Faculty take call 2-4 weeks per year, including in-person coverage of inpatient services on weekend mornings (with residents) and after-hours support by phone. Faculty participate in a collegial coverage pool while away on leave or PTO.
- Faculty participate in monthly departmental and clinic meetings and attend weekly Grand Rounds/M&M presentations (CME-accredited). Service on departmental and university committees and research consultation as appropriate.
