Ready Mix Driver

Responsibilities- Safely operate ready mix trucks by complying with DOT regulations to deliver concrete to customers, using the most efficient routes as directed by the Dispatcher or Plant Manager.
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure DOT standards are met; report maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Understand different mix designs, visually inspect the mix for proper materials, verify load size to the ticket, check for proper slump, and make adjustments as needed.
- Complete wash down at the job site as directed; perform drum rinse upon returning to the plant and complete drum chipping as required.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with customers to complete delivery and collect payment.
- Maintain vehicles, plant, and shop to promote a clean, organized, and safe workplace; perform regular maintenance on ready mix trucks and equipment.
- Complete all required paperwork using tablets or cell phones to ensure proper accounting and timekeeping (pre-trip inspections, time reporting, truck reports, trip tickets, etc.).
- Be a team player with a willingness to cross-train on topics such as dispatching, batching, and mechanics.
- Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.
- Consent to pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
- Class A or B CDL and current Medical DOT card.
- Personal protective equipment is required.
- Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal.
- Excellent communication skills in written and verbal forms.
- Dependability and reliability; punctuality and preparedness for scheduled shifts.
- A positive attitude to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
- Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, and dusty conditions; outdoor work.
- Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
- Ability to reach below/at/above shoulders.
