Works under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager. Coordinates the work activities of the Environmental Services staff to ensure proper procedures are followed. Assumes departmental responsibilities in the absence of the Environmental Services Manager.
Essential Functions- Coordinates the work activities of the Environmental Services staff to ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Participates in training and evaluations of the Environmental Services employees, including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and performance appraisals.
- Prepares monthly schedule and daily work assignments for Environmental Services staff.
- Participates in Hospital committees as assigned.
- Conducts quarterly employee rounding.
- Conducts monthly and quarterly APT and Glo Germ quality checks on patient rooms and surgical suites.
- Maintains daily duty lists in accordance with departmental and Infection Control policies and procedures.
- Provides coverage in the absence of the Environmental Services Manager.
- Acts as a liaison between shifts and other Hospital departments.
- Maintains par levels and orders supplies.
- Attends department meetings and in‑services as required by department or Hospital.
- Participates in cross training as requested and may staff the EVS Tech position or other positions as needed.
- Educates and trains staff on safety awareness and infection control protocols.
- Maintains and processes timecards in the absence of the Environmental Services Manager.
- Maintains confidentiality of all personnel and patient care information.
- Complies with Hospital Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and Hospital policies/procedures.
- Must be free from governmental sanctions involving healthcare and/or financial practices.

- High School Graduate or GED preferred.
- Licensure

- Experience
- Two years or more supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
- The ability to maintain continuing education requirements
- Ability to interact well with co‑workers, patients, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to supervise/ manage in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to develop and support teamwork.
- Ability to be flexible and to follow instructions.
- Computer knowledge including the ability to enter material into electronic record. Ability to operate fax, computer, and copy machine to perform the duties of the position.
