Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our growing team. In this key role, you will leverage existing relationships while actively developing new ones to drive revenue growth across our specialty oilfield product lines and commodity chemical distribution. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with a strong understanding of the oil and gas sector, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities in drilling, completion, and production applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize and expand current client relationships while proactively developing new leads, contacts, and strategic partnerships within the oilfield chemical market, including operators, service companies, and distributors.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and new business opportunities in drilling, completion, production chemicals, and commodity distributions.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their technical and operational challenges, present tailored chemical solutions, and recommend products/programs that deliver value and performance improvements.
  • Develop and deliver in-depth chemical programs, technical proposals, product recommendations, and supporting historical performance data to support sales efforts and customer decision-making.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of customer service by providing timely follow-up, technical support coordination, and ongoing relationship management to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Track and report on sales pipeline, market intelligence, and business development activities using relevant business software tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., manufacturing, and operations) to ensure proposed solutions align with product capabilities and customer expectations.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to represent the company, build networks, and stay informed on oilfield chemical advancements.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in lead generation, market research, and pursuing business opportunities, preferably in the oilfield chemicals, specialty chemicals, or energy sector.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients at all levels (technical, operational, and executive).
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends, interpret data, anticipate customer needs, and evaluate business prospects effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce detailed chemical programs, technical proposals, and critical historical performance data.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant business software, including Microsoft Office Suite, and other tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of oilfield operations (drilling, completion, production) and chemical applications is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred,
    but not required
    ; equivalent experience considered.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events (regional focus with potential for broader travel).
