Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:
- Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.)
- Vacation benefit - 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment; vacation accrual is pro-rated for part time hours.)
- Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) with at least 21 hours worked per week.
Scope of Position:
The Part Time Admin and Thrift Shop Supervisor is responsible for preparing Board packets, taking minutes at meetings, sending minutes out and preparing agendas. Also responsible for general Thrift Shop management, scheduling and oversight of volunteers, cash accounting, making deposits, assisting with all fundraising and development events, including Bell Ringing. This position is part-time and requires flexibility in scheduling and within the position itself.
Essential Functions:
Supervise the thrift shop including scheduling volunteers, ordering supplies, counting drawers and making deposits, assist with Advisory Board scheduling and preparing materials for meetings, scheduling of Bell Ringers and other volunteer needs, picking up kettles, and other duties as assigned. The hours are varied and require flexibility.
Education and Work Experience:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Required:
Proficient in WORD, EXCEL, CANVA, PowerPoint, and able to do accurate data entry into client databases, among other computer files.
Software-related skills: Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training, Word and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, among others.
Driving
- If the position requires driving:
- A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver's license is required.
- An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.
Background Check
- Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.
Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand written information. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
