POSITION SUMMARY

The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned to them. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Operations Lead monitors the associates dedicated to the warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Responsibilities
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to fulfill customer demands.
  • Train associates on Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification for associates.
Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities
  • Oversee unloading of inbound shipments, stacking of product, and picking/staging of outbound shipments in a productive manner.
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure accurate counting of products.
  • Load orders accurately onto appropriate doors and trailers.
  • Resolve discrepancies in shipping/receiving processes.
Customer Service
  • Conduct professional communication in appearance and interactions.
  • Communicate with customers via telephone, electronic means, or in person.
  • Prepare activity reports for site management.
Quality Control Responsibilities
  • Use appropriate documentation to ensure accurate receipt, shipment, and picking of orders.
  • Verify quality standards, report damages or discrepancies, and handle packaging and labeling.
  • Attend quality meetings and report issues to the Supervisor or Manager.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
  • Follow ISO standards, safety protocols, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and security.
  • Participate in safety meetings.
Labor Management
  • Direct warehouse team to achieve productivity objectives.
  • Assist with productivity sheets, payroll capture, schedule creation, and job assignments.
  • Support associate compliance with quality procedures.
Equipment Operation
  • Operate sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master, or pallet jack.
  • Maintain equipment and perform regular inspections and minor maintenance.
  • Operate all equipment safely and maintain active forklift certification.
Maintenance
  • Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Other Duties
  • Clerical and administrative support, including answering phones, scheduling, and visiting file management.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of experience in logistics/distribution or a related environment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Comfortable working in unregulated warehouse temperatures.
  • Completion of a forklift training program.
  • Basic computer skills, RF scanner usage, and WMS functions.
  • Mathematical ability to verify quantities, count inventory, and perform related tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, time‑management skills, and adaptability to change.
  • Excellent communication at all organizational levels.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2–4 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • Proven forklift experience and current MHE certification.
