Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Aircraft Structures Mechanic is responsible for performing regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft structural components. This includes identifying defects such as cracks or corrosion, consulting maintenance manuals to guide repairs, and installing new parts to improve performance. The mechanic handles sheet metal repairs, resolves mechanical issues based on visual inspections or reports, and maintains detailed records of all maintenance activities.
All tasks are carried out in compliance with Airside MRO, federal, and OSHA regulations to ensure safety and quality. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support overall maintenance operations.
The Aircraft Structures Mechanic performs maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft structural components, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Performs regular maintenance on Structures components
- Develops and maintains records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and any reports related to parts or services
- Inspects and examines many types of Structures components to identify cracks, corrosion, or other defects
- Consults maintenance manuals and specifications to identify correct operations and specifications for replacements or repairs
- Installs new parts to replace or repair defective or recalled parts or to enhance the performance of the Structures components; performs these tasks efficiently and to specifications
- Repairs sheet metal as needed
- Identifies and resolves mechanical problems based on visual inspections or reports from Airside MRO customers
- Documents and maintains all documentation related to inspections, repairs, and reassembly of Structures components
- Follow all Federal, Airside MRO, and OSHA regulations while performing maintenance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Thorough understanding of Structures parts, and systems
- Thorough understanding of tools and testing methods used to ensure proper functioning of a Structures components
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to complete and maintain records
- Detail-oriented with mechanical inclination
- Superior and careful workmanship
- Ability to interpret manufacturer’s technical data such as Component Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals, Drawings, Specifications, etc.
- Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions
- Ability to perform basic inspections and repairs
- Ability to learn new skills and methods of repairs
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills, as needed, to discuss equipment malfunctions and complete reports

FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
This position is subject to the Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) drug and alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 40 and Part 120.
