Job Summary

Join us as the Assistant Director of Dining Services I for Higley Unified School District (HUSD) in Gilbert, AZ. In this role, you will support the day‑to‑day food service operations across a 13‑school district serving 10,000 students, ensuring high‑quality service, operational excellence, and a strong student dining experience. Reporting to the Resident District Manager, you will join a solid, collaborative team of three additional dedicated managers.

This position plays a key role in leading and developing frontline associates, supporting client relationships, and driving financial success—while contributing to a district with tremendous growth potential.

As a hands‑on operational leader, you will assist in managing talent development, supporting profitability goals, and ensuring smooth execution of all dining programs and service lines across a large volume K‑12 environment. You will help oversee staffing, training, food quality, safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction while partnering closely with school administrators and the dining leadership team. • Works with management team in creating nutritious and top quality food.
• Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.
• Maintains excellent relationships with the client.
• Manages, trains, and develops associates.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• 1+ years of food service management experience.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Financial experience and business acumen skills.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
• Associate’s degree is preferred.
