Job Summary
Join us as the Assistant Director of Dining Services I for Higley Unified School District (HUSD) in Gilbert, AZ. In this role, you will support the day‑to‑day food service operations across a 13‑school district serving 10,000 students, ensuring high‑quality service, operational excellence, and a strong student dining experience. Reporting to the Resident District Manager, you will join a solid, collaborative team of three additional dedicated managers.
This position plays a key role in leading and developing frontline associates, supporting client relationships, and driving financial success—while contributing to a district with tremendous growth potential.
As a hands‑on operational leader, you will assist in managing talent development, supporting profitability goals, and ensuring smooth execution of all dining programs and service lines across a large volume K‑12 environment. You will help oversee staffing, training, food quality, safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction while partnering closely with school administrators and the dining leadership team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Works with management team in creating nutritious and top quality food.
- Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.
- Maintains excellent relationships with the client.
- Manages, trains, and develops associates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- 1+ years of food service management experience.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Financial experience and business acumen skills.
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
- Associate’s degree is preferred.
