Rotating work shift: 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift (Must be able to take a rotation on each shift)
This role involves performing a variety of duties assisting engineers in surface prep and mechanical and electromechanical componentry while performing modification, and assembly of spacecraft and support equipment.
* Must be a US Citizen
* Due to the design of the craft that's being finished, there is a 220 lb. weight limit to board and perform this task.
* Any metal finishing experience is welcome. This includes manufacturing or auto ruck body repair and refinishing.
Responsibilities:
Will be required to work in a near clean room like environment and hand sand and refinish the interior and exterior of a spacecraft. Position will require a solid mechanical aptitude and familiarity with torque wrenches and general hardware fastening. Some electrical and mechanical disassembly reassembly is required to complete the task.
Skills Required
Able to hand sand finished metals
Able to clean and prep surfaces for refinishing (surface will be finished with an aerospace grade finish)
Work with an engineering team that will be checking metal thicknesses etc.
Clean and apply surface prep solutions
Apply a special anti-corrosive sealer (paint) used in aerospace applications
• Must be able to work flexible shifts, including 2nd and 3rd shift schedules, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Use of a respirator is available if desired but not required per OSHA.
