About the RoleIndividual must batch products using computer or manual controls, using the proper mix and making necessary raw material adjustments. The operator performs daily plant maintenance while providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Travel will be to Waterman (Tucson), Stanfield, Higley (Mesa) and potentially other sites for a day or two such as Castle Hot Springs and Hassayampa.
What You’ll Accomplish- Use computer or manual controls to efficiently batch aggregates with the proper mix and make necessary raw material adjustments as directed by the QC department. Understand the proper use of each mix design.
- Responsible for day‑to‑day plant maintenance, which includes manual lifting, shoveling, lubrication of plant components, and minor plant adjustments.
- Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Professionally interact with internal and external customers.
- Effectively communicate with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Perform daily plant and equipment inspections.
- Prioritize work.
- Work with plant management to identify problems and potential issues that need to be addressed.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Report any unsafe condition, accident, or incident to a supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as required/assigned.
- Strong knowledge and experience in operating portable crushers, screens, conveyors, etc.
- Plant maintenance experience such as screen and liner changes is desired.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to be self‑directed with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer and basic mathematics skills.
- Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Physical requirements:
sit, stand, stoop, bend for extended periods; climb equipment, stairs, and ladders; walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery); work in all weather conditions. - Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Bilingual communications skills are a plus.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Candidate must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved PPE, including respirators. Those requiring respirators must be clean‑shaven around the face seal to pass fit tests.
- Candidate would be able to operate various mobile equipment such as front‑end loader, skid steer, all‑terrain forklift, haul truck, and/or water truck.
