Role Overview

The Practice Manager leads the Spine Center operations in Phoenix, AZ, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient processes, and compliant, budget‑aware performance. This full‑time, mid‑senior level position reports to the Director of Clinical Operations and collaborates with the clinical, finance, and quality leadership teams.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all Spine Center operational systems—including quality, service design, process design, location, layout, people, and work systems—and maintain optimal staffing, inventory, scheduling, and maintenance.
  • Establish and monitor continuous quality improvement standards, lead metrics management, and develop dashboards to track performance against departmental goals.
  • Serve as the patient advocate, ensuring privacy, confidentiality, and patient‑centered care across the entire care continuum.
  • Coach, coach, and lead operational team leaders; instill the organization’s mission, vision, and core values through education, demonstration, huddles, and engagement initiatives.
  • Manage patient assignment, rounding, and care coordination to ensure quality provision of care and a positive patient experience.
  • Provide real‑time clinical and operational expertise to unit staff and physicians, addressing problem‑solving on patients, processes, and family issues.
  • Coordinate quality initiatives, process improvements, and metrics alignment to support broader organizational objectives.
  • Lead staff development, including communication, decision‑making, critical thinking, and employee engagement; model a culture of learning and career advancement.
  • Facilitate Spine Center meetings, shared governance, and leadership efforts to promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the development of the operational and capital budget; manage daily operational resources—staff, supplies, and equipment—to maximize productivity and departmental performance.
  • Supervise clinical unit staff to ensure excellent patient care; support staff scheduling, timecard management, budget research, and supply ordering.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a current RN license in the state of practice; BLS required; ACLS preferred.
  • BSN required.
  • At least 1‑2 years of clinical experience relevant to the spine patient population.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specialty area, critical thinking, communication, influence, decision‑making, analytical, and flexibility skills to make optimal decisions based on multiple variables.
  • Ability to balance clinical skills with supervisory authority and to consider the ultimate impact of decisions on the Spine Center.
Education & Certifications
  • BSN required.
  • Current RN license; BLS required; ACLS preferred.
Experience & Experience Level
  • 1‑2 years of clinical experience in a patient‑facing environment.
  • Experience leading staff, developing budgets, and managing quality metrics.
Skills & Abilities
  • Effective management of clinic staff and training of front‑office personnel.
  • Delegation of work duties and creation/maintenance of a professional, pleasant atmosphere.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and workflow analysis skills to maximize patient experience and minimize organizational expense.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to resolve customer service issues.
Physical & Environmental Conditions
  • Normal office environment; occasional travel within designated geography.
  • Requires sitting and standing; some bending, stretching, and manual dexterity with a calculator and computer keyboard.
