Overview
Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity to fill the position of Grounds Maintenance Worker I - Part Time. With every job we fill, our focus is on providing best in class service to our citizens while offering the opportunity for professional growth in a rewarding and innovative work environment.
This posting is to fill four vacancies, all requiring weekend availability: Two part-time, Limited Term, non-benefited positions, working between 20-26 hours per week (approved through June 2026, may be eligible for renewal in the new fiscal year). Two part-time, non-benefited positions, working 20 hours per week at Cactus Yards.
ResponsibilitiesThe Grounds Maintenance Worker reports to the Parks Field Supervisor or Grounds Maintenance III, depending on assignment. The primary job duties include:
- Performs turf maintenance cultural practices utilizing motorized equipment.
- Performs mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, cultivation, fertilization, watering and pruning operations.
- Performs general landscape and cleanup duties, including trash and debris removal, graffiti removal and litter pickup.

RequirementsAt Team Gilbert, we hire outcome-oriented problem-solvers who love what they do. Here are some requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Six months previous experience and/or training in grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, equipment operation, and manual labor.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, regulations and/or ordinances
- Skill in equipment operation including multi and single deck mowers, utility vehicles, tractors and attachments including aerators, gannons, top dresser, vacuum, rotiller, etc.
- Skill in power tool operation including chainsaw, pole saw, stump grinder, auger, jackhammer, hedge trimmer, etc.
- Skill in cleaning and maintenance of facilities
- Skill in working in a team environment and have customer service skills
