Responsibilities- Directly manage all patient-specific non-sterile compounding and be responsible for patient-specific non-sterile compounding activities.
- Direct supervision of the compounding technicians and lab assistants.
- Be immersed in the daily operation of a pharmacy.
- Identify all applicable regulatory agencies and laws for compliance.
- Plan, organize, and direct the development of compounding initiatives.
- Ensure every critical check is accomplished every day for every compound.
- Staff the non-sterile laboratories as needed with the highest level of competency.
- Create project plans for rollout and execution of new compounding initiatives.
- Service and satisfy professionals’ questions regarding compounded prescription needs.
- Provide counsel to professionals having questions or problems with compounded products.
- Develop training materials and other knowledge assessment verifications.
- Maintain study protocols and data relevant to compounded non-sterile products.
- Review, revise, or create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Understand Pharmacy Standards of Practice.
- Familiar with USP chapters 795 and 800.
- Experience working in a compounding pharmacy.
- Familiarity with Computer Rx pharmacy software.
- Familiarity with pharmacy SOPs, including compounding.
- Ability to teach and train the pharmacy staff.
- Fluent in pharmacy operating systems.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Clear, professional, and effective communication with staff and management.
- Inventory management, independently leading projects, software training, and support.
- Effective time management and a sense of urgency.
- Ability to multitask in a stressful environment.
- Good problem-solving abilities, focus in a busy environment, and high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification strongly preferred.
