Job Details:

• Work in emergency department with varied schedule

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care of patients

• Must possess current, valid RN license in state of practice or compact RN licensure

• BLS certification required

• Minimum of one year experience in acute care hospital setting required

• Experience must include working in acute care setting within past 12 months as RN in specialty area

• Bachelor's degree preferred

• Professional certification preferred

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs

• Review patient history and physical with patient/family

• Review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to physicians

• Formulate and implement plan of care including discharge planning

• Provide direct patient care, coordinate care, and delegate appropriately

• Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in patient record

• Participate in education and orientation of facility personnel

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds

• Requires adequate hearing, visual acuity, and fine motor skills

• Must use standard precautions due to exposure to blood and bodily fluids
