We are looking for an energetic and dependable sterile compounding pharmacy technician. As part of the pharmacy team, you will use your knowledge of USP 797 to compound medications that are safe and effective for patients, under Pharmacist supervision.

• Adhere to the safety and environment procedures as outlined in the Site SOPs and wear appropriate PPE while executing daily tasks.
• Compound sterile medications.
• Perform the component preparation, formulation of the solutions, aseptic filling of the solutions, and/or inspection and packaging of filled units.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities according to facility SOPs.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleanroom suite support responsibilities including, but not limited to, compounding materials and supplies preparation, equipment calibration, cleaning, dishwashing, and sterilization or depyrogenation of equipment, according to facility SOPs.
• Document compounding-related and daily, weekly, and monthly activities according to facility SOPs and as required by USP 797.
• Communicate with pharmacists and report on issues in the lab.
• Utilize equipment as instructed by the pharmacist.
• Complete training as required by USP 797.

• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Arizona and National Certification (CPhT).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

• 1+ year compounding experience (nonsterile or sterile).
• Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician® (CSPT®).

• This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs, including gloves, respiratory protection, gown, and other items as required.
• This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
• Physical exertion required: walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.
