RIGID Industries is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Drafter II with expertise in Solid Works to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating detailed mechanical drawings and models for Electro-Mechanical assemblies. This role requires precision, creativity, and collaboration with engineers and product development teams.

Essential Functions
  • Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using Solid Works for mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Interpret engineering sketches and design requirements to produce detailed drawings.
  • Perform tolerance stack analysis on full assemblies.
  • Assist with design reviews from development through to production.
  • Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure alignment with design standards.
  • Maintain CAD library in Solidworks PDM.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to refine designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Update and revise existing drawings to reflect design changes and improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company guidelines, and quality requirements.
  • Support prototype development and assist in troubleshooting design issues.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical drafting.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Solid Works and PDM (including assemblies, sheet metal, and configurations).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and mechanical design principles.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, Aluminum diecast and plastic injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong technical writing abilities.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience with new product development.
  • Technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
