Where behavioral health behaves differently.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical services at or above the customary practice standards in the community, and within the qualifications and experience of Physician and adhere to the standards and principles of medical ethics of the American Medical Association, and all recognized associations or accrediting boards concerned with Physician's area of medical specialty.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments using the bio-psycho-social model through discussion, observation, and analysis.
- Identify psychiatric conditions according to the DSM-5.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans through multi-disciplinary collaboration with therapists and other professionals.
- Initiate and manage psychopharmacologic treatments.
- Order and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic test results.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families when clinically appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with medical assistants to streamline clinical workflow and optimize the patient’s experience of care.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine required.
- Five years of professional experience in mental health required. Three years of professional experience in clinical supervision, including experience leading clinics or similar sized organizations required. Clinical expertise in crisis intervention, skills in working with the mentally ill population, and with individuals and families undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress; skills in diagnosis and assessment.
- Appropriate professional registration/certification by state/national authority required.
