HDR is seeking a Utility Coordination and Design Business Class Director. The function of the role is to focus on the technical delivery of our products and services; however, this position is also considered the technical leader for the Utility Coordination and Design Business Class, responsible for quality assurance, resource availability and development, and project delivery.

• Monthly coordination calls with Business Class leadership and/or section managers, addressing key items such as ongoing development of the Utility Coordination and Design Business Class, identifying upcoming projects and/or pursuits requiring national leadership support, reviewing upcoming workload and staff availability, reviewing utilization reports to determine staffing needs, and supporting utilization goals.
• Identify participants in Project Approach and Resource (PARR) reviews and evaluations; perform project reviews or audits to validate quality practices, review technical and performance issues, and develop remedial action as needed.
• Serve as the focal point for the Transportation Business Group to deliver Utility Coordination and Design services in collaboration with other complementary Business Group or Market Sector classes throughout HDR.
• Identify and cultivate technical leadership within the business class to assist with key projects, programs, and initiatives, including hiring, staff interaction, communication, technical development, and project assignment.
• Participate in select marketing activities by supporting or developing project proposals, staffing assignments, identification of sub‑consultants and other duties as required. All phases of project development are expected. Limited national travel (average 15%) may be required to support select projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in a professional, architecture, engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
• Experience in developing and managing diverse teams.
• Collaborates effectively with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.

Compensation depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location (US: $163,422‑$337,222; Canada: $209,622‑$313,720).
