GeneralDescription
The position performs highly complex, senior‑level work overseeing correctional staff who provide direct care to juveniles in a correctional residential facility. Responsibilities include supervising unit operations, mentoring staff, ensuring safety and security, coaching youth, and overseeing the training and development of Juvenile Correctional Officers (JCOs).
Essential Duties- Provide on‑the‑job training to Juvenile Correctional Officers and ensure completion of dorm modules.
- Teach dorm operations and model appropriate interventions.
- Coach staff and youth on behavior protocols, DBT skills, conflict resolution, and emotional self‑regulation.
- Attend Youth Service Team meetings to contribute to treatment plans.
- Maintain privacy, follow all records regulations, and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Approve or deny timesheets for staff within deadlines to ensure accurate payment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and comply with agency safety policies and procedures.
Applicants must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check and meet the minimum qualifications. The role requires a strong understanding of correctional facility operations, youth development principles, and the Texas Model 2.0 treatment program.
